A Few Elementary School Fundraiser Ideas
Simple but effective ideas:
Summer fetes and barbecues
- An excellent money-spinners for your school. The traditional events involving parents as helpers, to man the stalls, should enable you to lay on a range of activities - from the traditional tombola, to games, cakes and bakes, drinks and barbecued food.
Make sure to plan a work flow from initiation of the event to the end of the event and explain in detail to your team, what they are supposed to do and it's clear what people are expected to do.
Book sales
– Plan a book fair. We have found that representatives from educational book clubs are often more than happy to visit and offer a share of the income from books purchased. Doing this on an annual basis can help raise predictable amounts of money.
Non-Uniform Day
– To raise fund quickly an excellent idea of charging students for the privilege of not wearing school uniform for the day works out well.
Christmas draw or raffle
– best idea suited for younger children. Parents are often happy to support the school. Parents will be willing to buy a ticket when they are informed about having a prize draw on the final day of term, or at the children's Christmas event.
Using Consultants
- for larger projects, inviting a fundraising consultant in to offer advice and mentoring can be worth the investment.
Tea Towels or printed mementos
– Who can resist an item made by the kids. Get hold of a company to produce a printed item with the children's handiwork. You can plan for a class or year-group teatowel, with pencil or stick drawings of all the members, including the class teacher. For sure this will be the memorable must-have item for parents and grandparents, families will be happy to pay out to have these treasured mementos.
Student photographs
– A treasured gift for your parents and grandparents, an annual photos of children taken in the term before is an important milestone memory of each step of your child's life.
